In theory, Spring should have sprung by now … and although signs are starting to show that warmer weather is indeed on the way, it’s still been cold here in the Northeast. On our walk yesterday, I saw this:
But I heard this: Peepers! A sure sign of Spring.
And unfortunately, Otis did this:
He did manage to find some slightly cleaner water to jump in later so he was only half this dirty when we got home. Another thing I can’t wait for — warm enough weather to hose the dogs down OUTSIDE.
Today is day two of a much anticipated three-day weekend. Why do some weeks seems so long at work? There just has to be a way to finagle a shorter work week without sacrificing income. When someone figures this out, please call me and let me in on the secret.
We’re supposed to get into the 50’s today so it’s definitely the day to be outside in the yard playing pick-up sticks and other fun clean-up activities. I don’t care, as long as I’m outside!
On the knitting front, I’ve been plugging away on my tunic design. After REPEATED (I’m embarrassed to say how many) attempts to get the math right, I think I’m finally in business. Hey, it’s my first pattern, what can I say.
Another project that has required repeated restarts is my Color Affection shawl which, for some reason, has been a real PITA. There are more than 8,000 projects on Ravelry for this shawl — unbelievable. Again, I think I’m finally in business. Either way, I’m not restarting it again.
I got some B-E-A-U-tiful Plucky Traveler Aran in the mail last week in colorway “Dancing Queen”. I’m not sure what I’m going to make with it but I have an oversized/drapey hooded cardigan design in my head that I may attempt.
I’m going to hold off on any more yarn purchases (she says, in all seriousness) until I get through some of my stash. I need an extra set of hands and that aforementioned 4-day workweek to make a substantial dent in what I have.
So with that, I’m off to start my day. Happy Easter!
